Opt-in forms will be sent directly to parents, and this will be the final opportunity to choose in-person learning this school year. Students will be able to return Monday, April 19 — the first day of the 4th-quarter. Learning Objectives 5th: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.5.2 Determine two or more main ideas of a text and explain how they are supported by key details; summarize the text. 6th: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.6.2 Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments. The objective for this week, is for students to critically analyze the way culture, society, and media perpetuate gender stereotypes. This week, students will examine their own assumptions about what it means to be a man, and what it means to be a woman. Students will gage with text, personal experiences, classroom discussion, and a final project. Hopefully, by the end of this week, students will begin to see how believing in stereotypes can be detrimental to the individual and society.
